A Majestic Giant Breed, the Irish Wolfhound excels as a Family Pet. They are NOT property protectors like the Rottweiler or Doberman Pincher, but more personal protectors for the entire family!

"How much is that doggie in the window?"...well, doggies AT the window at least. And, how big is big? In the case of the Irish Wolfhound, we speak of height rather than girth when we talk "big". These hounds are reaching to a window that is 72 inches (six feet) off the ground. In more familiar terms: just a bit taller than your dining room table, usually. But they are NOT like the proverbial Bull in a China Shop. Gentle in manner AND movement.

They get along well with
Children.

I should also point out that Lacey (the lovely
 lady) is about 5-feet, 7 inches.
 

They love a good run!!
 Play Dates with other dog breeds of all ages is good for socializing. The SCIWFC tries to hold several throughout the year.
